The story so far
Free tournament chess in the Northern Rivers, with weekly results, monthly titles and long-term player records. Here is how the first era played out.
Where it began
Tuesday nights at the Bangalow Hotel: 1,440 games and 118 players in the 2025/26 season alone.
To the coast
Wednesday nights at The Rails took tournament chess to Byron Bay.
The Masters
Twelve monthly champions met on 22 September 2026, and Tomi Bek won the Bangalow Chess Masters 2026.
Coast vs Hinterland
The 2026 regional team series put the coast and the hinterland head to head.
